HOODED HOPPERS
Engineered for safety and economy. Bump Release Hoppers are innovative and automatically dump on contact with the roll-off container. Hoppers are perfectly balanced to roll forward when loaded, dump completely and automatically return to upright, locked position ready for reloading. Continuous welding helps to prevent dripping of wet materials (leak-proof hoppers are available upon request). Formed smooth edge around top and pouring lip for safety and strength. Extended sides prevent side-wise scattering of material.
Safe Operations Video
Hooded Hoppers are built for safer handling of loose, sharp, or unpredictable materials. Their heavy-duty steel hood keeps contents contained, helping prevent materials like glass, scrap or steel banding from bouncing or spilling out during loading, helping reduce cleanup time and workplace hazards.
With solid-steel construction, forklift-ready design, and models built to handle up to 6,000 pounds, these hoppers offer safer, cleaner and more controlled material handling in demanding environments.

Safe Operating Instructions & Precautions for Self-Dumping Hoppers with Hoods
- LATCH HOLDER:
Latch should be locked in position, except when dumping.
- PICKING UP HOPPER: Insert forks into the opening of the base, spreading forks as far as possible. Forks should not extend past the front of the base.
- TRANSPORTING HOPPER: Lift with forks and tilt mast back to prevent slippage. Transport one unit at a time, keeping the hopper at a minimum practical height.
- DUMPING HOPPER:
- Keeping the mast tilted back, unlock the safety latch and attach the safety chain to the mast of the forklift.
- Raise forks to desired dumping height/position.
- Then, remaining clear of hopper (especially rocker area), drive slowly toward the edge of the roll-off bin/container.
- Slightly tilt the mast forward and release the handle to engage the hopper. Once engaged, the hopper will tilt forward and the front door will open allowing contents to dump.
- RELATCHING HOPPER: To relatch the hopper, tilt the mast back and make sure the safety latch is in the locked position.
- ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS:
- Before and during dumping, ensure the area is clear of debris and people.
- Do not exceed capacity of lift truck, hopper or operator.
- Never use hopper in need of repairs.
